A Star is Born

As promised, here are a few pictures from the 3rd grade class play at Nick’s school last week. The play was a Western called “Four Dollars and Fifty Cents” and included some singing, some square dancing, and a little skit. Nicholas played a bandit and had a couple of lines. Now, I may be biased, but I thought he did fabulous! I should be scared – neither of my kids has a lick of stagefright… I envision a heap of drama and dance performances in the years to come.
A note about the costume — Nick couldn’t locate his requisite white t-shirt when it came time to get dressed for the performance. Leave it up to my kid to stand out in his anachronistic Star Wars Lego t-shirt… does he like to stand out against the crowd or what?

Warning – Momma brag ahead!

So, as promised, here are some snapshots from Sarah’s kindergarten graduation. I’m so proud of all that Sarah has achieved this year. She worked really hard to learn SO much, and she is sooo ready to tackle first grade next month!

The princess with her tiara…

Sarah and her buddy Bella
The performance…. I’m not sure how she managed to get placed front and center, even though she’s tall enough to be in the back row!

Heading over to get her diploma Big hug for Miss Ami!
First grade here I come!
The two most awesome Kindergarten teachers EVER!
Little Miss Sash…. (Sash is the nickname that Miss Ami gave Sarah).

Oh but wait… you’re in for a treat later on this week. Nicholas has a featured role in the 3rd grade play, and I will be there camera in hand! Check back later on for the recap :)

Girlfriend likes her bling

My daughter recently discovered that her grandmother has quite a jewelry collection. Now, I’m a non-embellished kinda gal so I only wear my wedding set and a pendant. I only have a few pieces of costume jewelry and they are usually used on vacation. So Sarah found the bling and had a great time dressing up. Here she is in my parent’s backyard – If I lived there, I would totally use that backyard as my studio – it’s gorgeous. Of course, my mom is always changing out the flowers and doing other little things I never have time for, so if I owned the place, I’m sure it would be overrun with weeds and dried up flowers, lol.

Behind on blogging

I’m a bit behind (as usual!) but here is Kammie and Trey’s slideshow. I’ll be following up in the next few days with pics from Nick and Sarah’s birthdays, along with Sarah’s kindergarten graduation that took place this week (sniff!). Enjoy!

Kammie and Trey

We’ve been friends with Kamron and Trey for years… ever since Trey and Nicholas were in kindergarten together. This year, Sarah and Kamron are in kinder together with the same teacher! They’re thick as thieves, these two pair… both as brother and sister, and in tandem with my two little maniacs. We’ve been trying for months to get together for a bonafide shoot and finally had an opportunity to meet up at the park today for some portraits. Here’s a sneak peek – Tina, you’ll have to wait for the rest! :)
